It was a #sab-BOT-age!

On Saturday 17th November, 19 students from Stage 2 and Stage 3 at St Brigid’s Kyogle were part of 2 teams, called #sab-BOT-age, that participated in the FIRST Lego League Competition in Ballina. The competition drew in teams from schools from throughout the Northern Rivers and Gold Coast regions.

This year’s theme was ‘Into Orbit’.

Lego Club met every Monday, Wednesday and Friday during lunch from the start of Term 3 where the teams worked on their coding, presentations and the strategies they would need for the competition.

On the day, students participated in 3 robot games, Core Values judging, Robot Design judging and Research Project judging.

The Stage 2 team came 2nd in the Robot Game and were runners up in the Programming component of Robot Design judging. The Stage 3 team came home 13th overall. A fantastic day for the students and a great result for the St Brigid’s teams who displayed fantastic teamwork not only on the day of competition but in all the practice sessions leading up to competition day!

Well done team #sab-BOT-age!
